Visual storytelling rooted in culture, intention, and lived experience.
ABOUT
Taylor Jay is a creative director and photographer rooted in visual storytelling, intention, and culture. Guided by her Southern, Black, and queer identity, her work centers lived experience with honesty and cinematic depth, using imagery to document, direct, and elevate stories often left unseen.
With a background in Creative Writing, Taylor approaches every project through a narrative lens—prioritizing composition, mood, and meaning. Her experience behind the camera as both a photographer and camera operator informs a technical precision that allows emotion and story to lead, whether she’s directing a shoot or capturing moments in real time.
Her debut series, So’Flo the Series—a Black LGBTQ+ dramedy set in South Florida—was an official selection at the 2025 Urban Film Festival. She is also the author of The Love Below, a poetry memoir exploring love, identity, and healing.
In 2024, Taylor was featured in Voyage Miami Magazine’s Hidden Gems series for her growing impact within Miami’s creative and media community.
Whether behind the lens or shaping a visual concept, Taylor Jay creates work that honors lived experience, elevates underrepresented voices, and keeps culture at the center of the frame.
